A Japanese cinnabar lacquer comb, ex Miriam Slater Collection Purchased Nov 2014, decorated with flowers and leaves with mother-of-pearl, 5.5 x 12cm, a Japanese red lacquer wood comb, Showa Era, signed, with raised feather decoration, 6 x 11.5cm and four further Japanese red lacquer combs, largest 6 x 12cm. (6) From the collection of Pat Johnstone, a Cornish artist and sculptor, who also had a passion for collecting Asian antiques and especially Japanese combs, kogai and kanzashi. Her collection has been curated for over 40 years and includes items from the Miriam Slater collection.
