1899 QSA 3 clasps Cape Colony, OFS, Transvaal, 1902 KSA both clasps, 1914-15 Star trio and KGVI Imperial Service Medal to 5996 Sjt A. Smith Notts & Derby R. (Pte Derby Regt on QSA, Pte Notts & Derby Regt on KSA, Arthur Frederick Smith on ISM, PLEASE NOTE, the Star is to 2511 Pte E.S. Smith Notts & Derby R.) good fine to good very fine, swing mounted for wear with matching ribbon bar.
Arthur Smith did receive a 1914-15 Star having landed in France 17/12/14. His MIC is marked that the Star was returned for amendment in 1921, so unclear why it is not with the group. An Arthur Frederick Smith was appointed a postman in Derby August 1908 and awarded an ISM in London Gazette dated 1st November 1938.
Edgar Stanley Smith (No 200560) died of wounds serving with 11th Bn and is buried. in Doingt Communal Cemetery Extension. With copied MICs, LG, CWGC and Soldiers Died. (See photo) (R)
