More Information

The overall condition of the instrument is poor due to lead corrosion throughout the piano. This has been caused by the piano being stored in extremely damp conditions for some considerable time. The lead weights in the keys have swollen to such an extent that the keys have split and are wedged tightly together. Some of the keys have also warped.

The lead weighting bar in the fall has expanded and corroded and needs to be replaced before the fall will function.

The action (because of the damp) needs extensive overhaul, this includes the dampers and damper sockets.

The frame is poorly sprayed, the casework is in fair condition, but no better, and the soundboard is poorly finished.
