A large Japanese footed pottery bowl, by Shoji Hamada. With a ribbed tapering body and foot, decorated with three circular motifs, the wooden box purchased via Koichiro Isaka owner of Gallery St Ives, Tokyo with signed lid by Shinsaku Hamada, bowl height 12.5cm, diameter 20cm. Provenance: Originally purchased from the Hamada family in Mashiko circa 1998. Purchased by the vendor from J.A.N. Fine Art, Kensington Church Street, London in 2011.
