DIARIES & PHOTOGRAPH ALBUMS : kept by Phylis Mary Bell (b 1906, Stockport) A unique collection of six diaries come log books of her travels during the first half of the last century. There are eleven photograph albums varying from Widecombe in the Moor (Dartmoor) to Peru, different sizes and a variety of bindings. Included is an extremely large post card album. She must have kept every postcard that was sent to her. There is a quantity of ephemera relating to the Blue Star line, including a match box cover and an ash tray with the Arandora Star's crest on them. Sixteen larger size sepia photographs mounted on card on both sides, mostly by Frith. Rather charmingly is a large ( 390 x 310 mm ) tinted signed photograph of Phylis as a young child with her mother, who must have contributed to the taking of the photographs.
