Includes a front and a cover, both with Paris 30 Sep. 1870 cds's possibly carried via balloon ""L'Armand Barbes" on 7 Oct., the front addressed to London, the complete letter to Stratford St. Mary near Colchester (folding crease through 10c stamp). Arrival date 13 Oct.; 1 Nov. 1870 front to London carried on balloon "Le Fulton" 2 Nov. having London arrival date 7 Nov.; 28 Oct. 1870 letter carried by balloon "Le Colonel Charras" addressed to Le Havre, with 2 Nov. arrival ds; two covers dated 20 & 21 Jan. 1871 respectively, both to same address in Southampton, one having a 23 Jan. Southampton arrival ds, both carried on balloon "Le General Daumesnil", each with 30c Napoleon frankings; fragment of cover dated 23 Jan 1871 addressed to Birmingham and probably carried by balloon "Le Torricelli" with 2 x 20c franking; 9 Jan. 1871 letter-journal to London carried on balloon "La Gambetta" with 19 Jan. arrival ds.
