A 19th Century French 1866 pattern ' Chassepot ' rifle bayonet. The bayonet having ribbed brass hilt, muzzle ring and forward facing quillon. The recurved ' Yataghan ' style blade dated to the spine 1868 St Etienne 1871. Housed within a matching steel scabbard (56306) with leather carry case. Measures approx. 71cm.
