Both volumes show wear to the bindings, including scuffs and scratches to the spines, and shelf wear to corners and leading edges of the boards. All pages show some age-related darkening and some also show areas of light foxing. Both title pages show foxing down the right edge. Some pages show bleeding from the red block edge. Page 1 is loose in volume I, and shows chips to the right hand edge. PP2-5 are also partially detached.
