AN 1827 PATTERN NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD BY WILKINSON. A fine Naval Officer's 1827 Pattern sword with an 80cm pointed fullered, unsharpened blade with elaborate etched decoration of oak leaves amongst scrolling rope, with Royal Coat of Arms and crowned anchor detail. Marked to the ricasso Gieves Ltd London, Portsmouth, Devonport, and Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, numbered to the back 58190 and 'London Made', With a gilt brass half basket hilt with fouled anchor and crown decoration to the guard, bound sharkskin grip and lion's head pommel. With sword knot and brass mounted leather scabbard with twin ring mounts. The scabbard with latch fitting. 96cm overall length. 58190 suggesting a date of 1919 *Condition: Slight surface rust to blade, sword knot broken inside handle.
