A JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912) RECTANGULAR BLACK AND GILT LACQUER BOX, COVER AND TRAY. The top decorated with two fan shaped panels with huts on islands and bamboo in landscape in gold and silver takamaki-e and nashiji, within gold karakusa scrolls to rim, 19.5cm x 16cm
The cover cracked to two corners, some small losses to lacquer, some slight scratching to black lacquer and minor wear.
