A 20 bore brass barrelled flintlock holster pistol, by I. Parr (probably John Parr of Liverpool), c 1770, 13½” overall, barrel 8” with early B’ham proofs and engraved teardrop panel; signed rounded brass lock with swan neck cock and unbridled frizzen, engraved with simple scrolls and dog tooth borders; plain walnut fullstock with simple shell carving around breech tang; brass mounts include domed butt cap, escutcheon, simply engraved trigger guard, engraved openwork sideplate, and with plain wooden ramrod.
