A brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss pistol, by Ashton of Romford c 1770 but in an earlier style, 15” overall, 2 stage swamped barrel 9”, the octagonal breech with London proofs and engraved “Romford” in script; rounded lock with swan neck cock, signed in script; walnut fullstock with shell carving behind the breech tang; brass mounts include domed short eared butt cap, flower engraved trigger guard with acorn finial, and engraved open work sideplate; with brass tipped ramrod with worm.
