1648 (Feb 8) Warrant from Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick "To my very loving friends the Commissioners of the Navy" regarding the transfer of the carpenter Robert Bradley from the "Dove" to the frigate "Increase". Essex was Lord High Admiral of the Commonwealth navy; in early 1648 he endeavoured unsuccessfully to regain the fleet, the greater part of which had revolted to Charles I, but successfully organised the building of a new fleet for Parliament. Until 1642 Rich had been Postmaster General. A fine historical document. Photo on Page 30.
