French 19th century porcelain armorial cabinet plate, with a painted shield crest with Latin motto 'Praemium Virtutis Honor'', within gilt acanthus leaf border and foliate gilt on enamel blue ground rim, bearing an old collectors label of 'Richard Wagstaff Gibbs, Nottingham' to the underside, 9.5" diameter; together with a shaped Spode porcelain dish, 10" wide

Plate confirmed 9.5" diameter, both pieces in fine condition, free from damages or repairs apparent, only age consistent wear to the painted surface including most notably to the gilt highlights to the shield and rim border etc as visible in the images.
