Brazil: Companhia Estrada de Ferro do Corcovado, one share of 200 milreis, 1884, #1515, attractive vignette of the line, brown. Formed in 1882 to build a line from the Cosmo Velho district of Rio de Janeiro to the top of Corcovado Hill, now the location of the monument of Christ the Redeemer. Opened in 1884. Originally operated with steam engines it was converted to electric traction in 1910. Modernised in 1980 the line handles some 600,000 passengers a year. EF and scarce.
