A rare Napoleonic period French Cuirassiers heavy Cavalry sword dated 1813. this pattern sword was originally carried by the tall and fierce Cuirassiers of Napoléon's Grand Armee and was the same pattern cavalry sword carried before and during the battle of Waterloo on June 1815. Complete in its original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. The hilt stamped on the brass edge with the 35,B,F and 698 . The 37.5 inch blade with various military markings including B and L in circular cartouches. The back edge engraved "MANUFACTURE IMPERIALE DU KLINGENTHAL OCTOBRE 1813". Overall length in scabbard is 116cm.
