JOSEPH O'CONNOR COLLECTION
A fabulous large original acrylic on board painting by Joseph O'Connor titled "Woman Reading" and dated 1966. The curved figure of a woman dominates the composition as she bends forward peering intently at her book. O'Conner liberally uses broken strokes to convey form and movement. The soft treatment of her face is particularly grounding in an otherwise abstracted and busy piece. Signed and dated bottom left.
