A Victorian silver condiment set, Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1899-1900, comprising; a pair of pepperettes, a wet mustard with glass liner and an associated silver spoon, James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, with a further set of silver salts, John Henry Potter, Sheffield 1893-94, both in fitted cases (2)
The condiment set hallmarks quite worn, all sit level when placed on a flat service, but feet are worn in appearance, one pepperette has a 13mm split to the body and dent to the base, the mustard blue glass liner has a chip to the rim, the silver body has two splits to the curved rim, but hinged cover is functioning, all three are tarnished and show wear commensurate with usage and age, box slightly tired but snaps shut.
The silver salts have clear hallmarks, sit level and have complete glass liners, however, again they show signs of wear to the relief and the body with some tarnishing commensurate with age and usage, again the box is tired but the clasp is not functioning. Please see additional images.
