Carved and engraved hardwood and natural pigment. 20th century large Asmat shield with geomtric pattern in orange, white and black pigments. Probably Brazza River, very similar to one in the UBC collection. Approx L177 x 50cm. PROVENANCE John Magers Collection, Sydney. cf: University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Museum of Anthropology, Object number 2705/2.
