A scarce 1796 undress pattern Heavy Cavalry Officer's sword, blade 35½" with hatchet point, etched, blued and gilt with crown over "GR", trophies, etc, the back edge marked "J J Runkel, Solingen", the steel "honeysuckle" pattern hilt having wire bound leather covered grip, in its steel scabbard engraved with maker's rectangular mark of S. Brunn, Charing Cross (barely legible). GC (light honest age wear overall, dent to scabbard). £2500-3000
