A sturdy, large, dark brown leather covered fan box, of a size normally containing a feather fan, BUT less deep, possibly for travelling, having gold initials M.D on the exterior, with “FANS 1886” also in gold, and the initial “T”, a division on the diagonal inside, forming two compartments, gold label inside the box lid stating “A Barrett & Sons, 63 &64 Piccadilly, London W”, approx. 42.5 cm x 14 cm x 5cm
