λ An early 18th century ivory fan, with Chinese ivory sticks and guards, the guards in the Imari palette and clouté with abalone mother of pearl, the double leaf is hand painted in bright colours with a biblical/mythological scene, possibly Moses and Aaron before the Pharaoh (Exodus 7-11), the verso painted with a multitude of flowers typical of early fans, circa 1700, length 29cm
