1662 (Mar 13) Entire letter from Earl Clare in London, addressed "for Mr Henry Shipton at Hamstall Ridware near Yoxall in Staffordshire, leave this at the post house in Litchfield to be sent", the address panel signed "Clare", delivered free. The letter includes "you were cosend in paying three pence for the carriage of your former letter to me though I did not pay for it heer, for no member of either house of Parlement that is heer doth pay during the sitting of Parlement for any letter he either sends or receives".
