Enlisted on 7th September 1914. Landed in France on 1st June 1915 with 87th Field Company, Royal Engineers. Admitted to the Red Cross hospital, Salisbury on 22nd September 1918 with gas poisoning. Transferred to a Convalescent Depot on 9th November 1918. Discharged on 21st February 1919.
