1887M Melbourne gold 'Hooked J' Sovereign graded AU 55 by NGC (Marsh 131B, S 3867). Obverse: 'Jubilee Head' portrait of Queen Victoria with 'VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:' around, 'J.E.B.' initials for Joseph Edgar Boehm show the hooked J variation. Reverse: Saint George and the dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci with the date (1887) below and an 'M' mintmark to the ground. Edge: milled. Mintage: 64,013 total. Grade: AU 55.
