A Large collection of mostly 19th century Italian Grand Tour style plaster intaglios, to include seventeen examples by John Henning (1771-1851) inscribed "Henning" and being dated, depicting reductions of panels from the Parthenon and Phigaleian entablature friezes depicting Roman scenes to include mythical creatures such as centaurs, fighting scenes, Chariots and horses, housed within a wooden box with six trays (37)
John Henning, a Scottish born artist was one of the first to access the Elgin Marbles following their acquisition by the British Museum in 1816.
