AN EARLY 19TH SAMPLER worked by Mary Targoose aged 12 years 1819, with The Tree of Life, husband and wife, dogs, crown, flowering plants and birds in coloured silks on linen within a flory and counter-flory border, 26cm x 33cm
Bottom edge has losses mainly to left. Several holes above lower border beside left hand tree around legs of man, under life 'of' under wife's arm, by right tree, two in tree of life.
Some holes to border lower right edge and others along the border.
