A Meissen figure of Erato playing a hurdy-gurdy, Marcolini period, late 18th/early 19th century, reclining on rocks whilst playing the hurdy-gurdy, on a gilded scrollwork base, inscribed to one side Erato H, underglaze blue crossed swords and asterisk mark, the figure designed to slot together with other sections to form a centrepiece, 18.5cm long, 17.5cm high, some restoration
The figure has small areas of discoloured restoration to her chest along the line of a ribbon, the tied bow around her right arm and to her right foot. There are typical glaze imperfections and small firing cracks to the base, otherwise in reasonable condition.
