A smokebox numberplate, 47317, from a LMS Class 3F 0-6-0T No 16400 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 23396, in 1926, renumbered 7317 in 1934, becoming BR 47317. It spent most of its BR days at Carnforth before moving to Barrow in March 1960 and later Lancaster, Fleetwood and Skipton from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 16 April 1966 and sold for scrap to George Cohen at Rotherham. Repainted, repair to damage at the right end. (Postage Band: D)
