Two 19th century violins, comprising a 19th century Scottish violin, by Hardie & son, Edinburgh, dated '1823', main body length 13 3/4 inches, overall length 23 inches, together with a continental violin bearing maker's label dated '1749', single piece maple back, main body 14 1/4 inches, overall length 23 1/2 inches, with associated fitted case for two violins. (1 case)

Provenance: from the family of Gabor Miklossy, a highly regarded artist, trained musician and collector.
