Austro-Hungarian Empire Infantry Officer's shako. A good scarce subaltern's example of black melton cloth with patent leather crown and peak. The peak decorated with a row of bullion. To the front a gilt metal Imperial Austrian double-headed Eagle, a example of black leather mounted to the front with an Imperial Austrian double-headed Eagle. Brass bound front and rear peaks and comb, complete with brass chin scales and edging. The interior with leather lining and tailor's label of Josef Zimbler. Retains a good shape GC.round the top, a band of gold lace. Complete with a bullion cockade; the black centre bearing an embroidered FJI cypher. The interior with faux leather sweatband and material lining. Gilt dulled with age wear. Housed in the original storage case.Complete with brass chin scales and edging.
