Star Lot: Alberto Rossi (Italian, 1858-1936) An original Alberto Rossi watercolour on paper painting. The painting is brought to life through fluid, loose brushstrokes, while short, precise strokes add intricate detail, capturing the movement of the water. Signed lower right. Housed in a wood and gilt frame behind glass. Rossi's work has a rich auction history with works fetching €500 at auction.
MM: 31cm x 47cm including frame.

Alberto Rossi (1858–1936) was an Italian painter from Turin, known for his blend of realism, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism. He studied at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and later developed a distinctive style marked by expressive brushwork and a keen sensitivity to light and color. Rossi's subjects included landscapes, still lifes, and genre scenes, often reflecting the life and atmosphere of his native Piedmont. While he never gained the fame of some contemporaries, his work remains an important part of Italy’s artistic evolution, bridging academic traditions with modernist influences.
