18th century eight-day longcase clock movement inscribed 'Jn Clayton, Marple', housed in slender oak case with geometric star inlay to the door, 12" square brass dial has silvered chapter ring, roman numerals, arabic minute markers, supplementary second hand and square date aperture enclosed in pagoda-topped hood with plain turned columns
Case with numerous surface scratches, scuffs and knocks. Areas of loss to the veneer, fading and discolouration to areas. Split to the bottom of the case, split to the back. Dial with surface marks, tarnishing. General wear and tear. Has pendulum and weights. See photos.
