This SL600 was purchased by the vendor in October 2003. The first owner purchased it through his company in January 1996 and subsequently transferred it to his own name in December 1997. The vendor saw the car advertised by him in the Times and purchased it in 2003. The car comes with comprehensive service history and a stamped (old fashioned) service book. For some years it has been serviced by Autoclassico specialists in classic cars.

The vehicle has always been garaged and serviced annually. The car runs beautifully and was MOT'd in January, after fitting 2 new rear tyres and having an oil and filter change. The engine runs nicely and produces smooth power right through the range. The handling is excellent, and the ride comfortable.

There is a removable hardtop, and the beige soft top functions well and has had one new cover, although there is a 2cm split in one of the small folding clearview panels. The boot lid was updated by the first owner to have the new centre brake light and a Lorinser exhaust was also fitted to give a great sound. The dashboard had leather to match the main car colour.

The paintwork is in good order with a bit of attention needed on the front wheel arch edges. The interior leather is in very good order apart from the driver's seat which shows normal wear.

The SL600 was the flagship of the R129 range with adjustable shock absorbers, variable ride height and plenty of leather and polished wood. This model has the 5 G-Tronic transmission, also a 6 CD player still with the correct Mercedes radio (code supplied). The 3 keys/fobs are supplied with the car.
