AN EXCELLENT JAPANESE SATSUMA TEA SET, Marked with Bizan under the Shimazu family crest. Taisho period (1912-1926) or slightly later. To include Teapot, sugar dish, milk jug, twelve cups and twelve saucers; all finely decorated with hand painted figural design on dark ground with gilt accents, dragon handles and finials to top of lidded teapot, sugar dish and milk jug. In original fitted case.
Provenance: Private collection; formerly gifted by the Spanish government to the English ambassador to Spain
