BERMUDA - RARE COVER WITH BLUE "PACKET LETTER/SOUTHAMPTON" + HAMILTON 'PEROT' C.D.S. COVER; 6 Jan. 1850 EL (an order for a large amount of military tartan) from "Hamilton, Bermuda" (folds to show internal heading beside address panel) to Stirling charged "4/6" with v. fine scarce blue "PACKET LETTER/SOUTHAMPTON" and matching cds (20 Jan.) on the front; the first such usage of this Packet letter mark on a cover from Bermuda that we can recall having seen. Plus 6 July 1848 EL to Stirling with v. fine black "HAMILTON/+BERMUDA+" cds (as used for the Perot Provisionals) on the flaps.
