Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) satsuma rectangular box, the interior painted with chrysanthemum, flowering prunus and iris, on a gilt seeded pattern ground within dense floral borders, the exterior with figures at various pursuits, the underside with gilt and black character seal mark (missing lid)
Surface marks, light wear to gilt in places, accretions, small chips to a couple of corners. General wear and tear.
