A Clarice Cliff 'Double V' octagonal bowl - painted with blue, brown and pale yellow stylised leaves above black 'double Vs' and a broad solid brick red basal band, the interior with a blue band below the rim, large black printed Bizarre mark, 22.25 cm diameter, 10.6 cm high, probably professionally restored or a later copy.
* Condition: The glaze has a fine orange-peel finish throughout and it appears to extend over the painted decoration, which leads us to suspect that this is either professionally restored or a late-20th century copy. Under UV the brick red paint to the basal band is patchy and there appears to be repainting to the rim in places.
