4th (Queen’s Own) Hussars Victorian Officer’s shabraque or horse saddle cloth. A rare example from an Officer’s charger. Black melton cloth, edged with a row of gold bullion lace of regimental pattern. To the front quarters, an embroidered entwined VR Cypher surmounted by a four hooped Guelphic style crown. To the tails, a regimental bullion embroidered device surmounted by a Guelphic style crown. Below this “4 H”. The bullion remains bright, overall GC some age wear.
