Belgium/China: Unusual 1905 Liege World Fair purposed Exposition postcard to Mademoiselle Fernande in Hankow, resident with Monsieur Toulogue, Principal Inspector with the Chinese Railway (Peking-Hankow line), which was under Belgian responsibility and control at this time. Sent 4th Sep 1905 from Liege St. Leonard via Peking, 16th October, arriving at Hankow, 21st October. Postmarks of Belgium, German Post in Peking and internal imperial post of Peking and Hankow with examiner/postal written-mark top right.

From the collection of Tom Pring, a highly respected member of the Belgian Study Circle and the author of two works on Belgian issues, ‘Fine Barbe Varieties’ (2009) and ‘1893 Armoires du Royaume’ (2015). Pring was half-way through a work on the Ostend-Dover Route, which he was sadly unable to complete.
