A sapphire and diamond ring, the round cut sapphire weighing 5.10 carats approx. (10.7 x 10.7 x 6.0 mm approx.), within a surround of ten round cut diamonds, claw set in white metal to the split shoulders and plain polished yellow metal shank, indistinctly stamped, ring size N 1/2, weight 4.7gms
With accompanying report from Gemmological Certification Services, report no. 5783-1762, stating that the carat weight is 5.10 carats, that the stone is natural corundum, shows no evidence of heat treatment, and the origin opinion is Madagascar.
The sapphire shows colour zoning. There are inclusions visible under x10 loupe magnifications, including healed fractures, graphite inclusions, rutile 'silk' inclusions.
Minor nick to the girdle.
All claws present and in good condition.
Diamonds ranging in colour and clarity, average I colour and Si1 clarity, all diamonds present and in good condition with no chips or losses, slight carbon inclusions present in a few diamonds.
Shank shows minor scratching and wear commensurate with wear, no splitting, thinning, resizing or repair visible.
