WWII CENSOR MAIL - BRITISH CENSORS 1943-45: Two binders with the collection of British censored mail to/from a range of countries. Amongst the more interesting covers we note Dec. 1943 env from Largs to Iran with "RETURNED TO SENDER /BY THE CENSOR..." label (probably contained stamps). The 3d & 1/- KGVI adhesives being cancelled by boxed "POSTAGE/RELEASED" handstamp. Also a Jul. 1943 env. from Bury, Lancashire to Ohio with the "RETURNED TO SENDER/BY THE CENSOR..." label accompanied by the original insert covering the regulations re Philatelic Import & Export Control. Rare thus. Also of note are a couple of 1943 covers addressed to a certain Ronald Reagan of Burbank, California! (c.72 items) Cross Reference: MILITARY - CENSORED MAIL
