Historic note from vendor:
It belonged to my mothers father Alex Archibald who lived all his life in Lochgelly and was a champion fly fisherman who fed his large family of eight on mostly fish as times were very hard during the first world war and was given to me when he died. I was only six when I started fishing
and started out on fiberglass and was afraid to use the delicate rod and it has laid in its bag ever since . All the eyes are solid and well whipped and varnished I do not know why the front eye has a bit of Sellotape on it . The eye seems ok maybe just needs rewhipped and some of the decorative whipping came loose and fell off when I removed it from the bag.
