The Adventures of Uncle Lubin - including a presentation document for Tony White's film 'William Heath Robinson & His Amazing Uncle Lubin' with a letter from Tony White at Animus Productions addressed to Oliver Robinson dated 1988; A screenplay for 'The Adventures of Uncle Lubin - A Film of The Story' adapted by Tony White; and a third screenplay for 'The Adventures of Uncle Lubin' 90 minute film dated 1990, written by Roger Lang, from an original storyline by Tony White; together with three copies of the book 'The Adventures of Uncle Lubin' in different languages: 'Die Abenteuer Onkel Lubins' (Insel Taschenbuch, 1977) German copy with personal note 'For Oliver Robinson' in pencil to front page; 'Oncle Lubin' (Renard Poche, 1978) French copy; and 'The Adventures of Uncle Lubin' (Puffin, 1975). Provenance: consigned for sale from the estate of a family member of the artist.
William Heath Robinson was known for his children's books and humorous illustrations. He also contributed cartoons to publications like Sketch and Bystander. From 1903, he extended his talents to illustrate advertising and publicity books for companies such as Moss Brothers, showcasing his delightful cartoon style. (6)
