1981 Kawasaki KZ250A, 248cc. Registration number UWW 375X. Frame number KZ250A 032127. Engine number KZ250AE 032215.
Sold with the V5C, original purchase invoice, one key and receipts for parts.
From its initial design brief in 1975 to its appearance at the 1978 motorcycle show the Z250 was a bike very much designed for the UK market with its unique 250cc learner limit. The contemporary report in ‘Bike’ Magazine concludes that the bike was a great, although late, entry to the UK 250cc market with better handling and brakes than other bikes in its class. The Z250A boasted a better specification compared to its cheaper brother launched a year later ( the Z250B ) with disc brakes front and rear, alloy wheels and pinstriped paintwork.
UWW was bought new by Andrew Grey for £1114.00 and it remained with him until our vendor bought it in 2023. A serial restorer, he has sympathetically restored it, using many of the original parts. The engine was stripped and vapour blasted using new bearings and seals, the bores were good so new standard pistons and rings were fitted, the valves were reground. Originally red he had it resprayed Kawasaki Green, New Tyres and tubes have been fitted.
Now finished, another bike is now on the bench.
