William Faulkner – Sanctuary, Chatto and Windus, London, 1931. First UK Edition, First Printing. With cloth stamped in Gold to the Spine & four pages of adds to the rear. The date "1931" to the title page and no mention of a reprint to the copyright page. The jacket which is exceptionally uncommon has loss to the corners lower and upper spine. There is a clean repaired tear running the length of the spine. Not price clipped with first state price present (7s 6d. net) and reviews of his first two books 'Soldiers' Pay' and 'Sound of fury' only to the rear panel.
