WW2 1939-1945, Air Crew Europe Stars, Defence Medal and BWM attributed to 1333473 Flt Sgt Malcolm Lionel Brian Morrison mint. He was killed in action piloting a Stirling with No 90 Sqn on a raid to Cologne on 4th July 1943 and is buried in Ghent City Cemetery.
Sold with original Air Ministry box of transmission addressed to Mrs F.B. Morrison, Wandsworth Common, Air Council condolence transmittal slip named to Flight Sergeant M.L.B. Morrison, RAF pilot's log book, Buckingham Palace sympathy letter, RAF wings, with 7 folders containing original official and personal letters, telegrams including reporting him missing, photos which include aircraft, original grave markers, in uniform, family etc, research, family tree details showing he was descended from Fearon Fallows an important person in early South African and Cockermouth history etc where he was the first astronomer at Cape of Good Hope, a treasure trove of information.
Log book starts 24/10/41, qualified as 1st pilot Stirling 11/6/43, posted to No 90 Sqn 15/6/43, first Op to Le Creusot 19/6/43, failed to return from 7th Op. (See photo) (½B)
