1914-15 Star trio to 2589 Pte M.H. Hickling Leic Yeo extremely fine. Matthew Henry Hickling was killed in action with C Sqn on 13th May 1915 and is commemorated on the Menin gate. With copied Soldiers Died, CWGC and Leicester & Rutland Casualty list, born Syston, on 13 May the regiment were in position near Bellewarde Farm when heavily shelled and attacked suffering heavy casualties including the CO.
