Rare Antique 1300's Japanese TAIMA School Samurai Sword. Very Rare Kamakura period 1300's TAIMA School Tachi. Taimadera Temple in Nara had a sword school that produced superb quality swords of the YAMATO Tradition by famed sword maker or katana KAJI KUNIYUKI & TOMOKIYO. Legend has it many of the swords were purchased or ordered by Buddhist monks, only a handful of these rare swords were signed, one is a national museum in Japan & another sold in Europe for USA $67,000.00. This sword purchased from a closed temple in Nara Japan about 18km from TAIMADERA temple. Close scrutiny of the sword indicates it's not been used, or resharpened, all the Koshirae Tsuka are original to the sword, it's seriously SHARP, and in excellent original polish. However there is some oxidisation on the blade. The magnificent skills of the katana KAJI are exhibited in spectacular Hamon & Hada. It's very rare to find Kamakura period swords in their original fittings like this.
