A VERY FINE PERSIAN SILK ‘QUM’ RUG, a rare commissioned piece, from a family of the ‘Noori’ Clan, the weaver of this piece was called Shahabuddin Noori, and would have taken some 9 months to weave, the rug is signed ‘Noori’ at the end, the warp, weft and pile is of pure natural silk, including the fringes, knot density is around 800,000 knots per square metre, 180cm x 120cm approx.
